| Description: |
Under the influence of extreme high pressure a couple of million years ago chalkstone was formed in the Tafelberg on Curaçao, deriving from little sea creatures. In the early days people harvested phosphor for their cattle. This phosphor was formed in layers of extrements of the guanobird.
Nowadays the Mijnmaatschappij is finding limited amounts of sand chalkstone. The important factor is the hardness and the purity. |
